Data & methodology
CACN reports are built from public municipal open data, collected and standardised by Hillbase.
Sources
Source list will be published as each city goes live.
Hillbase checks each source weekly. CACN builds each city’s report for the previous week early on Monday in that city’s own time zone (from 02:00 local time), and permit-lead emails go out at 07:00 in the subscriber’s time zone.
How weekly reports are made
- Permits are counted in the ISO week (Monday–Sunday) of their application date.
- Public pages show totals and neighbourhood-level counts only — never individual addresses.
- The written summary is generated from the published numbers only, and every figure in it is checked automatically against those numbers before publishing.
- When a city’s data hasn’t updated, the report says so instead of showing zero.
Limitations
- Coverage and fields differ between municipalities.
- A permit application is not a completed project, and estimated values are as reported by the city.
- Nothing here is legal, planning or investment advice.
